The view from my mother’s hospital room and why you haven’t seen too much of me on Social the past few months. Surgery was aborted because of mom’s heart issues. We are very lucky to still have her with us, although she’s not going to be happy she still has her gall bladder drainage bag. Hopefully life will get back to normal soon, although after the past two months, this is the new normal. That’s historic #lambeaufield in the background on the left .Reviews to resume tbd. Master storyteller Alice Hoffman is back with the conclusion of the Owens saga in #TheBookofMagic (#PracticalMagic 2.0) I'm a late comer to this series, having just read two of the novels last year. I normally don't read fantasy or like the genre, but you don't have to be a fan to love this series. It is so well written, I want a companion spell book with all the concoctions like courage tea. #TheCollectorsDaughter: A Novel of the Discovery of #Tutankhamun's Tomb by @gill.paul1 #KingTut The story of #LordCarnarvon's daughter is a fascinating one and one I was eager to learn more about. I have no idea where my interest in Egyptology started. Did Nancy Drew ever go to Egypt? I can't remember, but archaeology and Egyptology have always fascinated me. Maybe it was in 1977-78, when King Tut's treasures were exhibited in the United States and my brother's #SteveMartin record had the parody song on it. I was lucky enough to see Tut's treasures in Chicago about a decade ago, and I'm still just as interested as ever. Gill Paul has found a way, once again, to weave fact and fiction into a storytelling masterpiece. I know I'll be revisiting Tut soon thanks to The Collector's Daughter.
